The
flexibility of interior design make the Fusion 40 "Charter" a
favourite among the Charter companies. Built using "Infusion" molding
processes, these catamarans are the strongest and lightest available in their
class.
Highly
sought after by the keen sailor, the Fusion 40 satisfies the family with it's
comfort and Dad with it's sailing ability.
A project
like the Fusion 40 does not just happen, it is diligently planned. World-wide
analysis is done capturing the data that will eventually make up the hundreds
of pages that become the business plan.
Unlike most
Catamaran manufacturers, the Fusion 40 was designed primarily with the serious
cruiser in mind, it not only has the performance that is sought from a modern
design, but has the ability of a good monohull when going to windward.
Lengthy discussions with specialist Multihull Yacht brokers were undertaken to
rationalize the preferred requirements of the buying public and sizes were
analyzed before the dimensions were given to the Garry Lidgard Naval Design
Studio.
One very
critical element was to produce a boat, not only exceptional in her looks but
also light, enabling her to perform safely and endure the challenges at sea.
To achieve
this La Passion engineers developed for the Fusion 40 an improved vinylester
and vinylepoxy resin used in a vacuum infusion molding process for all parts –
the outcome - there are no better composite parts available. The moulds have
been manufactured by computer design through to the use of a 5 axis router for
accurate component mould manufacture.
This process
has also brought about a gelcoat finish on the Fusion 40, that most companies
only dream of, and a weight and strength ratio never before seen on a
production catamaran. Whether you are looking for a cat to do the weekend race,
coastal hop, or cruise oceans, Fusion 40 is at the leading edge.
